Mobile Strategy and Consultancy
Following a long interest in mobile and the internet dating back to 1995, I was asked to create a mobile strategy for the Guardian Newspaper group, and to then implement and manage the strategy.
The http://m.guardian.co.uk website was launched in March 2009 – on schedule and on budget – and by July 2009 was hitting 4.4 million page impressions a month with just under 300,000 unique users, making it one of the top 3 mobile news sites and exceeding its predicted first year revenue in less than three months.
Additionally I also developed the app strategy for the Guardian and was central to the creation of the Guardian’s mobile app. Within a year of launch the app became the number one UK paid app and number two in the US, with over 200,000 downloads creating over £500k revenue.
More recently I have worked with MoreThan on constructing their mobile strategy, and have recently helped Hastings Direct with their Telematics mobile strategy in conjunction with telematics business eTouch.
Other work includes consultantcy for the iPhone app for the world’s largest matrimonial service Shaadi, com and the Business Mobile bmob.co.uk
